Zoe Houseman is a Junior majoring in Creative WritingWhen she isn’t playing soccer, she’s either spending time with her brothers, drinking a chai and reading a book, outdoors hiking, or watching moviesThis is her first year with Mistake House and her favorite part of being Editor-in-Chief has been working with her fellow editors and seeing the creativity in every submission. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Soap Bubble Set Editor, Joaquín Surbera

Joaquín Surbera is a Senior majoring in Music Studies: Production & Performance with minors in Philosophy and Entrepreneurship. He spends most of his time working on his own music or listening to records. His favorite band at the moment is Black Country, New Road. He also enjoys going on hikes, reading, writing, and playing tennis. This is his first year with Mistake House Magazine, and he learned a lot about the process of researching artistsengaging with their work, and reaching out to them. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fiction Editor, Arale Mathilda Septiaheny

Arale Mathilda Septiaheny is a sophomore majoring in Creative Writing and Performing Arts with a minor in Dance. When she isn’t in a theatrical play/production, she will often shift her focus to writing plays and fiction. In her spare time, she enjoys pestering and talking to people for several long hours at a time. This is her first year with Mistake House Magazine; one of her favorite parts of the process was working on the spreadsheets. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Poetry Editor, Richard Keyes

Richard Keyes (they/them) is a junior majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in Theater and in Music. They have a passion for learning new things and expanding their understanding of the world and the many different peoples living in it. During their free time they love reading stories and especially enjoy fantasy and adventure. This is Richard’s first year with Mistake House, and one of their favorite parts of being Poetry Editor has been reading all the various poetry submissions. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Online Editor and Photography Editor, DeWitt John Makengo

DeWitt John Makengo is a senior majoring in Digital Media and Journalism with a concentration in Digital Media, and minors in Creative Writing and Visual Arts. He is a filmmaker, photographer, and visual artist whose work explores the history of origins. DeWitt is currently directing a narrative short film, The Preacherman, as his capstone project. He previously served as Photography Editor for Mistake House Magazine, Issue 10, and this is his second time on the staff.
