Ethan Capp (He/Him) is a senior English major and Philosophy minor at Principia College. In his free time, Ethan reads, writes, paints, and plays video games, board games, and card games with his friends. Ethan is an avid reader of both poetry and fiction. T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land is one of his favorite books, along with many of Kurt Vonnegut’s works. Ethan is excited to be on the Mistake House staff and launch another extraordinary issue.
Caroline Bumbaugh, Managing Editor
Caroline Bumbaugh (She/Her) is a junior double majoring in English, in the creative writing track, and Education, in the theory and practice track. She enjoys writing poetry, reading, and studying different theories. Some of her favorite poets are William Wordsworth, Dorothy Parker, and Yesenia Montilla. When Caroline is not reading and writing, she can be found with her friends, on walks, at the gym, or at the pool.
Tobin Blair (He/They) is a first-year student at Principia College and has not yet declared a major. More than anything else, he loves thinking, in whatever form that happens to take. As such, he enjoys philosophy, books, and board games, all of which allow him to spend time deep in thought. Tobin can regularly be found writing poems or short stories that are too strange even for him to understand.
Kaitlyn Kraack, Soap Bubble Set Editor
Kaitlyn Kraack (She/Her) is a junior majoring in English, in the literary studies track, and minoring in Women’s and Gender Studies. In addition to reading and writing, Kaitlyn enjoys performing. She has been in five theater productions since her first year in college and has been studying voice for six semesters. Some of Kaitlyn’s favorite authors and poets are Alice Walker, Khaled Hosseini, Carolyn Kizer, and William Wordsworth. During her free time, she can be found spending time with her friends or listening to music while enjoying a cup of coffee.
Nathan Babcock (He/Him) is a junior English major in the creative writing track at Principia College. He loves visual art and live theater and carries a recorder with him everywhere he goes—he can play part of Hedwig’s Theme on it. Over the years, Nathan has discovered that nothing brings him more joy than engaging with the world through art and poetry.
Ari Hofman (They/Them) is a junior double majoring in English, in the creative writing track, and Studio Art, in the drawing track. They enjoy writing and illustrating stories that explore concepts of identity, family, and belonging. When not creating, they can be found collecting inspiration on walks, reading, or playing tabletop, card, and board games with their friends.
Jane Wantland (She/Her) is a junior majoring in English, in the literary studies track, and minoring in Economics. She is the President of the Friends of English (FOEs) club on campus. Jane enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with friends. Some of her favorite authors are Charlotte Brontë, Herta Müller, and Alice Oseman. Jane loves to bake for her friends and can often be found making her signature banana chocolate-chip muffins.
