Ena Castillo-Barillas is a Nicaraguan, photo-based artist who explores the intersection of still and moving imagery through symbolism, surrealism, and psychedelic aesthetics. Currently an MFA student at Barry University, Ena’s artistic practice engages with religion and mythology through a lens of respect and curiosity, while also examining Nicaraguan identities. Ena also enjoys experimenting with photographic processes and mechanisms to develop concepts within the framework of theoretical photography.
